Nadia Palacios Lauterbach

Principal
Nadia Palacios Lauterbach is a registered architect in Texas and Colorado, leading a practice grounded in the principles of classical and traditional architecture. Her work is defined by a clear belief: that architecture should endure—beyond time and trend—and remain rooted in human scale, proportion, and place.
She traces her earliest understanding of architecture to her upbringing in the colonial cities of Nicaragua, where a lasting connection to history and environment continues to shape her perspective. She studied architecture at the University of Notre Dame before apprenticing under leading practitioners of classical and traditional design in Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Houston. In 2009, she established Nadia Palacios Architecture, where she now leads a team of highly skilled professionals in the design of homes and gardens.
Nadia lives in a 1920s bungalow in Houston’s Heights with her husband, John, and their two sons, Alexander and Lorenzo. Outside the studio, she draws, dances Flamenco, and dedicates time to the Houston Area Women’s Center—a reflection of her belief that design, at its best, is both cultural and human.
Recognized for her work and leadership, Nadia was named a “Stars on the Rise” recipient in 2013. She is a founding member of the Texas Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art and an inductee of The Urban Guild. She also maintains active memberships with the American Institute of Architects, Texas Society of Architects, American Society of Interior Designers, Design Leadership Network, and INTBAU.
Architecture should endure beyond time and trend, and remain rooted in human scale, proportion, and place.
